We have been talking a lot about building an audience and an online business. We have talked a lot about content, traffic, tools, and techniques. But none of that matters if you don’t have a product that people want. A real world example is… Mike Bloomberg.
He spent $500 million on advertising in this year’s Democratic primary and he won one territory that had less than 1,000 people vote. At the end of the day people didn’t want to buy what he was selling… he was the political equivalent of water proof tea bags. (Please note this is not a commentary on him or whether he would or would not be a good candidate)
No matter how good your marketing is, if your product sucks it won’t matter in the long term. Put another way; the best way to kill a bad business is with great marketing. So don’t get caught up in the bells and whistles of all the sexy marketing strategies that we have talked about and are out there.
Let’s talk about products. Comment on this post and let me know what your product or service is.
