Take care of yourself…

Good Evening!

We had a good conversation in the Profiit Academy Daily Facebook group today about how many hours a day we put in.

One person mentioned that they feel guilty for playing video games and not working on occasion.

I have this problem too at times.

I feel like every minute I spend not working is a missed opportunity.

I lived like this for a few years… but I finally realized that it is counter productive.

First of all… what’s the point of success if you can’t enjoy yourself a little bit?

But more importantly not taking time to unplug will reduce the quality of your work so even though you put in less hours you will get better, more productive hours and actually get more done.

The trick is not to over indulge (something I am very bad at… I don’t have a “medium” setting on much of anything by default… it is something I am constantly working to cultivate in myself )

The way I found to handle this is two pronged

1 – Remove access to anything that you know you will over indulge on.

2 – Schedule time to do the things you can healthily enjoy.

Take the example from the group… there is nothing wrong with gaming.

Just schedule yourself 1-2 hours a day for it and don’t do it outside of that window.

You will get the enjoyment, you will turn off the “work” part of your brain, and you won’t lose a day to it.

Just make sure you don’t get so hooked on the dopamine it will give you that you can’t stop (this is what I mean in point #1).

This is the key to everything really.

While I believe “work life balance” is abused and over used… I firmly believe that the middle way is the path to success, Profiit, and enlightenment.

So take care of yourself. Do the things you enjoy. Just do them in moderation.

If you can master this, you can succeed at anything.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
CMW
