How to lose weight…

Good Evening,

Losing weight it tough. People don’t like doing things that are tough most of the time. That’s why stuff like “How to lose 10 pounds in 48 hours with this one simple trick” work so well on people… it makes it sound like you can just flip a switch, do no work and lose weight. That’s not reality.

You know how you really lose weight? A few ounces at a time. Over and over again. A healthy amount of weight loss is around 2lbs. a week. Or about 4.5 ounces a day. That’s how you lose weight, just make tiny adjustments to your diet and activity so that you lose about 4.5 ounces a day. If you looked at the scale and saw that you only lost 4.5 ounces you’d feel like you weren’t making any progress. But string together 30 days like that and you have lost around 9-10 pounds. All because you had the patience and discipline to make tiny changes and stick to them over a long period of time. The same is true in business.

Tiny decisions, repeated over a long period of time can and will lead to big things if you have the patience to execute on them. In 2015 I made the decision to throw a social signals service on a freelance marketplace. It was almost an afterthought at the time. That set of a series of small decisions and events that has lead to my own freelance marketplace that I expect to either use to change the world, or at the least exit for a 9 figure pay day within the next 5 years.

I made a small decision, then kept executing that small decision until it lead to big results for me and others. So figure out your end game, like we discussed in a previous dispatch. Then reverse engineer it into some small steps that you can execute on and repeat over and over until you get to where you want to be.

Best,
CMW
