The Big Picture…

Good Evening,

Monitoring numbers… whether it is sales, rankings, like, views or something else can be maddening.

This is one of the reasons I tell clients not to look at their rankings daily or even weekly.

It is the same reason I only look at sales 2 times a day.

Looking at your numbers too frequently will cause you stress, and fake highs and lows that might lead to you making bad decisions.

Take this random stock graph example

This is a massive increase from start to finish that would make the owner of this stock a lot of money…

…assuming they don’t check it too often and panic at the points with the red arrows.

I see this a lot from SEO students and customers too… “My ranking dropped 4 spots today, what do we do?!?!?”

Of course the answer is “nothing” more often than not.

It takes a discipline that most people don’t have by their nature not to react to slow days, or downturns too quickly.

That is where you can gain an advantage.

Put together strong plans, execute them, and have confidence in them when you have a slow period… this is where you will really be able to win in the end, because while everyone else is making emotional over reactions, you will be in there making strong plans, executing them and winning in the end.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
CMW
