Take care of people that take care of you...

Good morning!

Monday morning is my favorite time of the week for a few reasons… but the main one is, that’s when I pay my team.

I do things a little differently than most businesses (at least I think I do).

I pay on Monday morning’s instead of Friday, for the work they will do that week, as opposed to the work they did the week prior.

Staff is BY FAR my biggest expense… and I am happy to pay it because I have a great team that does a great job for us that I would be nowhere without.

I think how well you treat, and pay people under your employ says a lot about who you are and the values of your business.

This is on my mind this morning because I saw a post by someone in the industry that is looking to hire someone.

The person doing the hiring is very successful and he wants A LOT from the person he is looking to hire…

…and he wants to pay them what works out to $12 an hour (assuming he only works them 40 hours a week).

Take care of people that take care of you...

That’s less than you would make at Best Buy, or Circle K (convenient store).

I am not judging the way anyone else hires, or does business… but to me it feels an awful lot like telling a band that “it will be great for exposure”

You will hear a lot of people say “Its hard to find good people these days!” and while that is true… it is especially hard to find good people if you don’t treat them well and take care of them.

So my point is this… hire great people, take good care of them, and they will take good care of you and your business.

Treat people like wage slaves and you will get people, if you are lucky, that will do the bare minimum required not to get fired.

This is one of those situations where it is the right thing to do, because it is the right thing to do… but it is also the right thing to do because it works.
