Delegation and Team Management

Delegation and Team Management

Good Afternoon!

Today I want to talk about delegation.

A friend of mine and someone I have partnered with on a few offers before was telling me he was stressed out because he didn’t know how to go about delegating tasks to his team and it left him feeling overwhelmed.

I gave him what seemed to me simple advice but this was his reaction:

Delegation and Team Management

So it got me to thinking that it might benefit some other people as well!

There are a few key things that are important when managing a team:

Expectations

It is absolutely critical that you set clearly defined expectations for team members… if they don’t know what is expected they will default to doing nothing.

They will look to you for what you expect of them and I suggest you set it this way

Overall Culture: This is by far the most important one. For us at LegiitSuperstar SEO the culture we want is customer satisfaction, even above Profiit. This includes our support team, our SEO team… everyone. They know that nothing is more important than making someone happy and that is our driving goal… Customers Not Competitors

Daily Tasks: Most positions have something you need them to do every single day. Check messages, fill out a report, check up on project… whatever. Figure out what tasks each person needs to have done every work day and make it clear to them that they don’t go home/sign off without it being done.

Weekly/Monthly Tasks: Depending upon your business you may need one or both of these. This works the same way as daily tasks but I suggest you recap at the beginning of the week/month to make sure people are on task. Then at the end of the time period see if they were able to get it done, if not find out what the obstacles were, and remove them.

That’s pretty much it for expectations. I have found that people respect this approach because they will know what you expect from them and they can just sign on and get to work, which brings me to my next point…

Transparency

There are always going to be parts of your business that you can’t share with certain members of your team for a variety of reasons.

But you want to share as much as you can, not only about what is expected of them and why… but with what is going on in the business, good or bad, why certain decisions are being made, and as much information as you can possible share.

Team members do not like uncertainty in their jobs and it will affect their performance heavily.

The more transparent you can be with them, the more they will trust you, the more excited they will be about your company’s wins, and the harder they will work.

Recognition

This is probably the one I struggle with the most, but a little bit of recognition goes a long way.

Even if it is for something they do every day and is expected of them people appreciate knowing that you recognize they are doing well.

This is more important to some people even than money/raises are.

So take the time to send people that deserve it a nice thank you from time to time and it will go a long way.

These are some general tips for working with people and keeping the machine running.

Do you have a team? Do you have any advice to better manage them to get the mos tout of your business?

I would love to hear what you are doing so let me know in the Profiit Academy Daily Facebook Group.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
