Decision Fatigue

Decision Fatigue

Good Evening!

Decisions are kind of like a life meter in a video game.

The more of it you use the more it depletes, the less of it you can do.

(I don’t play many video games so I hope that analogy works)

Essentially, the more decisions you make in a day, the poorer the quality those decisions will be.

Some people take this to the extreme.

Mark Zuckerberg for example wears the same t-shirt and jeans every (presumably different ones in the same style) that removes a trivial decision he doesn’t have to make each day and saves his brain power for more important things.

President Obama had 2 different meals that he ate. He would have an aid give him a piece of paper and he would check which of the 2 he wanted that day.

Most top CEOs and entrepreneurs have optimized their day like this.

Decision fatigue is the reason that judges give leaner sentences earlier in the day as well.

So what does this have to do with making Profiit?

Decision Fatigue

Well everything.

You are the CEO of your own life, and you need to get as much out of every moment as you can.

Your brain is amazing but it is not limitless.

If you spend it deciding if you want Thai or Italian, the blue sweater or the grey hoodie, to watch a movie or binge a TV show etc… you are using up the points that you need to put towards the important parts of your business.

The truth is you only need to make a couple of key decisions a day.

Make those as soon as possible in your day before shiny objects and pointless decisions get ahold of you.

Take a quick inventory of everything in your life… what choices do you make every day that you can eliminate by adding in repetition?

For me I wear the same thing every day. A Legiit t-shirt and basketball or cargo shorts.

I eat at the same time every day, and only have 2-3 different meals I choose from.

I use the same brand of everything in my house/office.

I constantly find choices I can remove from my day so I can use the peak brain hours to make the big decisions that help move me forward.

So what are some daily decisions you make that you can easily remove?

Let me know in the Profiit Academy Daily Facebook group.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
