Business Isn’t Fun

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the first installment of Profiit Academy Daily!

Before we start… I just want to say thank you for the overwhelmingly positive response and amount of interest in this program. Its truly humbling that anyone would be interested in anything I have to say and its something I don’t think I will ever get used to.

So let’s get started.

I’m generally a pretty positive guy at least I like to think I am so starting off with “Business Isn’t Fun” is not really my style.

But that’s where my head is at today because I have to do some of the nonsense that the courses we all see advertised and buy never talk about.

A little backstory.

About 2 weeks ago I was sitting in my office doing whatever I was doing that day and I hear a knock on the door.

I open it and 2 ladies with a clipboard walk in.

They are from the county business office and they are going around looking for violations.

Our tax dollars hard at work 🙄

Well it turns out that I don’t have a permit that I am supposed to have, that I had no idea that I needed.

So I tell them fine tell me what I need to do to get it.

And apparently there is ANOTHER permit I need in order to get this permit.

And there is a late fee for not having this permit in the first place.

AND if you consider just telling them to stick it there is a $500 fine and potentially 25 days in jail! Insane!

Oh and I have to do it in person at an office that is FAR from where I live and work and its going to cost a couple thousand dollars… for literally nothing except their permission.

Sure I could blame how hard it was to even find this information, or that my attorney didn’t tell me about it sooner, or that this is a blatant government cash grab… but ultimately this is my fault for not being on top of it.

So instead of doing the fun stuff of business… writing sales copy, making new offers, helping customers and clients, or growing the business today I am going to spend most of the day hanging out in a government office on the other side of town.

While this particular example is an extreme one I think it is an important fact that isn’t talked about enough.

Something like 85% of business is the non sexy part… stuff like Admin, hiring, firing, employee management, taxes, etc…

Here’s the good news.

When most people realize that, they are going to quit, which means more opportunity for the rest of us.

So I urge you to examine your business, make sure all your “ducks are in a row” so you don’t get blindsided by something like this, push your way through the 85% of business that sucks so you can appreciate and excel at the 15% of of good stuff.

That’s all I’ve got for today, I have to head out to my karate class now (which I will discuss in a future dispatch).

Have a great day, and if you haven’t already be sure to hop in our private Facebook group if you have any questions you can ask there, or reply to this email and I will get to it as soon as possible.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Best,
CMW
